Humo composición by Jaime Alberto Mendoza Toledo
Nowadays, Guadalajara, Mexico is considered by local and foreign entrepreneurs to be one of the most attractive cities in which to invest. Experts on the subject rank the city among the top five with greater economic potential in North America. The field of construction, as a good indicator of growth, has demonstrated intense activity in this city in the previous years. Many architectural proposals join the new urban setting. Located in the heart of the city, an architecture and design firm is sparking up conversations. The work of Humo composición reflects foundations that today seem forgotten.
The founder, Jaime Alberto Mendoza Toledo, describes the workshop as follows: “We are a team of practical and efficient professionals in design and construction. I aim the proposals of our work towards an engrained, noble and expressive language; I find its wealth there. We chase away vain and pretentious fads. In discipline and concentration as a lifestyle, I find pleasure, stimulation and constant happiness.”
One of the main characteristics of this studio is the work strategy with which each project is approached, depending on particular nature and needs. Jaime Alberto explains: “I understand composition as the creative process in which each exercise starts taking shape: From a clear understanding of the project’s objectives, to the definition of its conceptual lines, transforming them into formal languages of architecture and design. We are challenged every day to train ourselves in the meticulous observation of life’s dual and ever changing qualities; for it is in this dynamic that we search for the conducting wires of our work.”
Another significant line of action of Humo composición is the manufacturing of real state products for sale, which have had an outstanding acceptance and rapid sales in the city. The founding architect explains: “Fortunately, we have done well, the competition in the city is intense, yet we have sold according to the original plans and within the time frame we have set for our business. Our clients are satisfied and that makes me very happy. We focus on superseding our competitors with better projects, a rigorous standard in the quality of construction, and above all passion and warmth in the realization of the work. That is what they buy from us.”
At the same time, the firm has made alliances with other studios for several architectural contests, achieving outstanding results. A highlight was the triumph obtained in the national contest for the design of the buildings that would provide the accommodations for the Panamerican games hosted by Guadalajara in 2012. The project was not carried out due to governmental discrepancies.
On another note, Jaime Alberto, fond of horseback riding, has started the design of show jumping obstacles, requested by the country’s prominent brands for publicity purposes.
Founded nine years ago, Humo composición, is becoming one of the young firms with most projection and potential in its field. For more information visit:
